    Once you’ve recorded your voice message, click “Finish” to send it either as a private message or as a wall posting everyone can listen to. Private messages will show up in your friend’s Facebook inbox.

    However, you can leave a voice message for any of your friends, whether they are available in Facebook chat or not. Click “Cancel” and follow the recording prompts to record your voice message.

    There are many reasons why your friend may not answer. To answer a call they need to be available for a call, aware of the call request and click to accept the call. You can find your friend’s availability by using Facebook chat to send a message to your friend prior to starting a call.

    • In Chrome, the button launches a new Bobsled window. To get the button for Chrome, visit calling.bobsled.com and click "Browser Button" on the lower right hand corner of the page.

    • In Internet Explorer, the button launches calling.bobsled.com in a new tab. In IE, this button is hidden by default. To unhide the button go to the View menu, click on "Toolbars" and make sure that “Command Bar” is checked. Then look for the Command Bar is the toolbar bar in the upper right of your browser. You may see the Bobsled button there. If not, then click on the “>>” button. The Bobsled button should be there.

    To give you one-click access to your friends in your browser, Bobsled needs you to install the browser extension that lets us put a button in your toolbar. This software is absolutely free and runs in the background. It lets your computer connect to the Bobsled voice servers and then to your friends.

    There are two parts to uninstalling Bobsled Calling from your computer:

    Removing from Facebook:

    1. Go to your Facebook privacy settings page.
    2. Click on “Edit Settings” next to the “Apps and Websites” section.

    4. Click on the “x” next to Bobsled.
    5. Click “Remove.”

    Removing from Your Computer:


    The process of uninstalling is different across systems and browsers. Follow the instructions below to remove Bobsled Calling from your computer and browser:

    For Windows:
    Click Start -> All Programs -> Bobsled by T-Mobile -> Uninstall Bobsled

    For Google Chrome with Windows:
    Go to extensions (type in chrome://extensions) and uninstall Bobsled by T-Mobile

    For Apple Safari with Mac:

    • Have group and individual conversations with your friends on Android smartphones and tablets running Android 2.1+, from virtually anywhere in the world on any carrier.
    • Access all your messages from most browsers in real time.
    • Message your friends in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico who are on any type of mobile phone – including text-capable feature phones – even if it doesn’t have Bobsled Messaging installed.

    To use Bobsled on in your browser or on your Android smartphone or tablet, you will need to register with your mobile phone number. You will need a mobile plan that lets you send and receive text messages. After you sign up at messaging.bobsled.com, a text message from Bobsled with a confirmation code will be sent to the phone number you used to register. You will use this code to finish your signup in your browser and / or on your Android tablet. Standard text messaging rates apply.

    • To sign up on your Android smartphone, install the Bobsled Messaging application from the Android Market and sign up as a new user. This application will use your data plan, so your data rates apply.
    • To sign up in your browser, go to messaging.bobsled.com.
    • To sign up on your Android tablet, install the Bobsled Messaging application from the Android Market and sign up as new user. While you are signing up, your tablet may auto-populate the phone number field. Please replace this number with your mobile phone number you want to use. This application will use your data plan, so your data rates apply.

    No they don’t. When you send a 1-to-1 message, either through your phone or through the web when your phone is on, to a friend who doesn’t have Bobsled, your conversation will be sent through your phone’s standard text message program. They will receive a regular text message.

    Your standard text messaging rates - including international rates to international numbers - will apply. These vary by carrier, so be sure to check your plan. The best way around this is to get them to sign up for Bobsled by downloading the Android application or visiting messaging.bobsled.com.

    When you send a 1-to-1 message through the Web or a group message to your friends who are in US,  or Canada or Puerto Rico, they will get a text message. The text message will be sent via your data plan (your standard data rates apply) and will show up on your friend’s phone from a short code, a series of numbers different than your phone number.  So your friend will see a series of numbers as the sender. If they are outside the US/Canada, or Puerto Rico, access is available only via the Android application or messaging.bobsled.com.

    The sync function lets you sync all your old text messages from your Android smartphone - whether they were sent with Bobsled or not - to Bobsled Messaging.

    To set the sync function up, select “sync” from the welcome screen when you install Bobsled Messaging on your Android smartphone. If you missed this step, click the “menu” button from the conversation list and select “settings.” From there, select “sync cell phone texts” and choose “Yes.”

    Now any new messages you send using Bobsled Messaging or your device’s native text messaging app will by synced across all of your Bobsled Messaging devices and the Web. You can message from virtually anywhere and not worry about having a specific device to get your messages.

    • From the Android application, open Bobsled Messaging, from the Conversation List and click New Conversation, then enter your friend’s mobile number or name (if they are in your contact list). Type your message, hit Send and you are done!

    • From your browser, go to messaging.bobsled.com and then login or sign up with your phone number and password.

      • To start a conversation, select a contact from the contact list on the right and select a contact and click the “start a new conversation” icon. You may add more contacts from the contact list on the right and select a contact and click the “add to conversation.”
      • You can also start a conversation by clicking “new conversation” in the conversation list on the left. You can type the name of a Bobsled contact in your contact list or enter a phone number and add them to the conversation. You can choose one contact or create a new group.
    • From other mobile phones, you can respond to Bobsled messages, but you cannot initiate new conversations. To use Bobsled Messaging, please visit our Web portal at messaging.bobsled.com. You can also use that portal to create an account and sign up to use Bobsled in most Web browsers.

    • From your browser, go to messaging.bobsled.com and login or sign up with your phone number and password. Then select the conversation you want to add location to – or start a new conversation.

      You can then attach a location by clicking the paper clip icon next to the message box and selecting the location option from the popup menu. A search box will appear. Search for the location you want to attach to your message, and select your desired option from the search results to add your selection to your next message in the conversation.

    • From other mobile phones, you cannot currently add location information to a message.

    • From your Android smartphone or tablet, tap the button that looks like a paperclip. From the popup menu you can choose an existing photo or video by selecting “image from library,” or take a new photo or video with your device camera by selecting “take a photo.”

    • In your browser, go to messaging.bobsled.com and then login or sign up with your phone number and password. From there, start a new conversation or select an existing conversation that you want to add a picture message to.

      From there, you can add a picture by clicking the paper clip icon next to the message box and selecting the picture option from the popup menu. A search box will appear. A browse button will appear immediately beneath the message box. Click on the browse button, then select the photo, video, or audio file that you want to share. That file will be attached to your next message in that conversation.

    • If you do not have the Bobsled messaging apps and are replying to a Bobsled message that
      • Is coming from a phone number, you can respond with a photo or audio/video message the same way you would in a regular text messaging conversation.
      • Is coming from a short code, a series of numbers different than your phone number, you can not respond with a photo or audio/video message.

Click on the user you want to remove from the conversation and select “Block.” You can also block a user by going to their profile from the contact list. Once there, simply click the “Block” button.

    Please note, that one-to-one messages can only be sent to friends who have US, Canadian, and Puerto Rico mobile numbers.

You can change this in your Account Settings under Message Sending so that you only use your data plan to send text messages. When this setting is enabled, your friends get messages from a short code. There are only 100 characters available for your message because we have to include a message explaining to your friends why they are getting messages from a short code. We are working on increasing the limit.

    When you delete your account, all your messages and contacts will be deleted permanently from Bobsled Messaging on all of your devices. This is not reversible so be sure you want to do this before deleting your account.
